Modern Kew House

We purchased a small derelict bungalow on a large plot with a private driveway in one of Kew’s most desirable roads. We obtained planning permission to add a 6.5m rear extension and convert the large loft space into two further bedrooms. We redesigned the outside appearance to create a lofty light filled space which was Worlds away from the dark oppressing bungalow that we purchased. We more than doubled the internal size of the property which amounted to circa 2200 sf ft of living space.

In order to flood the property with light we decided to create a double height entrance hall with a sweeping bespoke staircase and an oversized flush skylight. Beautiful oversized polished concrete tiles were used throughout the hallway which leads past three bedrooms on the ground floor, two bathrooms and a utility room before entering the enormous double height, open-plan kitchen, living room and diner. We used oversized glass sliding doors with additional panes above to fill the room with light. Two further bedrooms are found upstairs, both with en-suites. The master bedroom is a huge space with a walk in wardrobe and large en-suite bathroom with stone bath.
